King City Advisors was founded by Artie Jones III after three decades of leading economic development from inside local government, in cities including College Park, South Fulton, St. Marys, and Mableton. That experience shapes how we work. We understand the realities of municipal decision making because we have lived them.
We advise cities, developers, investors, and development authorities on the projects that define a community’s future. Our work spans feasibility studies, capital improvement planning, incentive structuring, partnerships between the public and private sectors, and the formation of the development entities that make growth possible. We know what a city council needs to weigh, what a developer needs to close a deal, and how to bring both sides to an agreement.
Our Story
King City Advisors grew out of nearly a decade Artie Jones III spent as Economic Development Director for the City of College Park. During that tenure, the team established the city’s first Tax Allocation District, projected to attract more than $3.5 billion in private investment. We structured the arena partnership with the Atlanta Hawks, refinanced $80 million in bonds to save the city $5.4 million, and recruited VXI Corporation, creating more than 570 jobs.
That work continued at the City of South Fulton, where we facilitated $2.09 billion in data center investment while directing three economic development entities at once.
We founded King City Advisors to bring that same hands on leadership to communities and investors across Georgia. Our clients work directly with advisors who have negotiated the deals, managed the budgets, answered to the council, and remained accountable for the results, from the first feasibility study through to completion.
